Mr. Desai served on the Steptoe pro bono team representing a former patient of Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Maryland’s maximum-security forensic psychiatric hospital, in a federal civil rights action alleging excessive force by hospital security officers. The representation resulted in a $90,000 settlement with the Maryland Department of Health.
